Happy Nauryz Meiram (Nauryz Holiday)

Nauryz, also known by the people of Kazakhstan as "The Nation Great Day" was celebrated together by the community of IITU and UiTM Exchange Program students on 22 April 2017. This celebration was supposed to be held on 21 of March this year, but in honor of the UiTM Exchange Program student, they postponed it until yesterday to celebrate it together.

It was a very fun and enjoyable day for both of us and IITU students. The events held are the performance from multiple comunity within the IITU itself including us, sports, traditional games and dancing (IITU student's favourite).

For the performance show, each of the clubs and community that represent their course present their performance (mostly dancing) in front of the administration of IITU and a few other VIPs from other international universities such as Portugal, Russia and Turkey. Our performance have received quite a good feedback as most of them had never seen 'Tarian Silat Gayung Pusaka' and 'Joget Toleh-Menoleh'. We also are very astonished with their band of musician's performance which uses their traditional guitar-like musical instrument called "Dombra" (as shown in the picture, it only consist of 3 strings only).

Furthermore, for the sports activity, the 3 of us joined the futsal and managed to play until the final. Together with the students of IITU, they made a team and successfully managed to play with the IITU top futsal player in the final.

Moreover, some of us also have tried the Kazakhstan's traditional games such as Altybakan. Altybakan literally means "Six pillars". Basically, it is like Malaysian traditional "Buaian" but it consist of 6 pillars (as show in the picture).

At last, this was one of our enjoyable days during our time here. We learned alot about their culture (especially dancing. Seriouly though, the students like to dance a lot.). We got a first place for our "Joget" and "Silat" performance (on our category).
